Cutting the Fins
In the last picture, the raw coupling was taken out of the vise just for photographic purposes. In real life, this is not necessary, just leave it where it was. However, now you can tighten the vise some more before starting the orthogonal cuts
TIP: If your eye measure is not really good, start with a cut in the center and then divide the halves further into quarters and eights. Remove the coupling, turn it upside-down and repeat the procedure.

This is what the cuts should look like. In this case the picture shows the cuts after turning the coupling around and cutting the bottom.
Here is a close-up of the results:
