New Dimensions in Performance

Lavalys Everest

Everest is a newcomer in the system benchmarking scene. Especially with respect to sensor identification and certain monitoring features, Everest is sometimes better than any of the other monitors we have tried in the past with the exception of the discontinued MBM5.


So far so good, the 925XE chipset paired with a Prescott is supposed to be fast and different metrics and algorithms will generate different results. In so far, the values above are perfectly within the expected range. However, in repeated runs, we found the same increase in bandwidth that we already saw with SiSoft Sandra

All of a sudden, we have an increase of 1GB in memory read bandwidth.

We decided to push a bit harder and finally ended up with a mega score:

One thing we noticed about the Everest scores was that the memory frequency as shown on the far right decreased instead of increasing. In other words, supposedly, the memory was running slower but at the same time the benchmarks results increased.
