 AMD Athlon64-FX57
The Cost of Speed
(Review by MS June 27, 2005)
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ (Venice)

3DMark05

We are looking at the CPU benchmark: The scores are based on the second run, which gives better results and also draws more power.

3DMark'05 CPU benchmark scores: Benchmark2 is multithreaded and gives the dual core CPUs a distinct edge. On the other hand, the FX57 almost ties with the P4 840EE.

Points per Watt

The FX57 does better than the X2-4800 but still scores only about 1/2 the points of the Venice core.
