3D Render Power
Caligari TrueSpace 5.1
Caligari's TrueSpace is probably the most obsolete benchmark we are running here - at least with respect to its release data but it is a great tool to look at multithreading because it scales almost perfectly wtih the number of CPUs used. Also, it is one of the few tools that is only little affected by HyperThreading, meaning that the software is actually really good. We stick with Adam Trachtenberg's "Vases" at 1024 x 768 with 2xAA enabled.

Render time [sec], lower is better
Power consumption per render pass [Wsec], lower is better
Truespace was run in WinXP-32 and even if the power efficiency does not set any new records, the performance of the Quad FX platform does. And again, with a better tuned VRM the power picture may shift dramatically.
