| AMD Athlon XP2800+ The Truce of the AntiMatter | |
| (Review by MS, October 1, 2002) |
Aside from Doom3, the most anticipated game of the season has been Unreal Tournament featuring superb graphics but also posing a rather hefty challenge for any system component. The Demo version contains a number of integrated benchmark files in both flyby and botmatch flavor. The flyby benchmarks are mostly limited by the capabilities of the GPU while the botmatches feature more CPU-intensive positional calculations. Like everywhere else, the different botmatches favor either the P4 or the Athlon and since we are not interested in selecting one or the other, we are going to show them all.
Antalus

The XP2800+ gets off to a good start being faster than the P4 even at 3.15 GHz.
Anubis

The overclocked P4 manages to pull almost even with the XP2800+.
Asbestos

It is almost a tie at 2800 MHz and the P4 at 3.15 GHz scores a clear victory
Citadel

Back to the XP 2800+.
