*All benchmarks were run using the Tyan Tachyon G9700 Pro except for Viewperf 6.1.2 and 7.0 where the nVidia Quadro4 XGL980 was used. In all cases, the same hardware including HDD and graphics cards were used. All benchmarks were run on a fresh installation of the OS for each hardware / APIC configuration. All benchmarks for the P4 were run with HyperThreading enabled which adds a certain handicap for the P4 in some benchmarks but on the other hand, HT is Intel's pat technology and has some performance advantages in other benchmarks.
