 AMD' 690G vs Intel's 965G
Revolte of the Integrated Graphics
(Joe Freund, September 4, 2007)

Vista

One of the main marketing points for Windows Vista is the new Aero interface, with window transparency, rotating window selection, and other possibly useful decorations. Both the AMD 690G and the Intel G965 were able to smoothly present Aero in real-world usage. Vista’s built-in performance rating is intended to act as a guide to hardware selection on the new OS. We also show how each of the two platforms scored.

The situation is similar to 3DMark, where the synthetic benchmark shows different results than actual games. Differences in the amounts of system RAM and graphics memory arise from how the two platforms assign memory to the integrated video.
