* The Presler design comprises essentially two separate CedarMill cores as opposed to the Smithfield, which is one single die with two individual cores fused together.
** Thermal design power (TDP) is not the maximum power a processor can dissipate but is a guideline as a system design target.
*** virtualization technology allows the setup of virtual machines running different operating systems simultaneously. In principle, this is nothing new in that for example all modern x86 processors support virtual DOS machines. However, virtualization technology takes this feature to new levels.
