 Intel Pentium4 600 64-bit Performance
PanoramaFactory Revisited
(Review by MS March 2, 2005)
Intel P4 630+ At:

Focal length corrects from a fish-eye view in each frame to a linear projection. Without focal length correction, the stitched image would look like a sequence of horizontally oriented hourglasses.

Enhancing gets rid of the little flaws in the overlapping areas

Cropping can take forever and the time required increases with the size and jaggedness of the composite picture.

Finally one benchmark where 32-bit processsing bests the 64-bit counterpart. Keep in mind that the "Write" process really just measures the writing of the image file to the hard disk - and that is where the 64-bit drivers still are not as optimized as the "mature" 32-bit builds.
