Aside from the CPU scores of 3DMark2003, the older 3DMark2001SE appears much more interesting to look at, at least with respect to the overall score as an indicator of system performance rather than an evaluation tool for the graphics adapter only.

Comanche4 is probably the most bandwidth hungry benchmark out there, note the disproportional increase in the scores with increasing PSB.
Unreal Tournament (Demo) Botmatch 1200 x 960

A very similar picture is painted by UnrealTournament 2003, higher PSB helps more than clock speed to increase performance, even with the memory running in asynchronous mode, that is at lower speed.
