 Intel Pentium4 "Prescott"
Strained to the Silicon
(Review by MS, Feb. 1, 2004)
Intel Prescott
Starting at:
Sysmark 2004

Intenet Content Creation generates three different scores, that is 3D Creation, 2 D Creation and Web Publication

It's a tie between the Northwood and the Prescott here. Even with respect to "scaling" we don't see any differences.

2D creation mostly entails integer operations in e.g. Adobe Photoshop, that is, running different filters etc. None of the "enhancements" given to Prescott appears to be able to play in this domain, therefore, the higher access latencies drop the Prescott behind the Northwood. Once again, we see very good scaling of Prescott with the different speed grades but it will take a bit higher frequencies to overcome the "scaling in the wrong direction".

A similar situation as in the case of 3D Creation, with Prescott marginally leading Northwood.
