 Athlon XP2200+
The First of the Thoroughbreds
(Review by MS, June 10 2002)
Test Setup

The XP2200 will compete with Intel's line of Pentium4 processors but it will also be measured against the Palomino core even though there should not be much of a difference between the two cores. Surprises are always possible, though, a minor tweak here or there can work miracles. Or maybe not?

We will not include SiSoft Sandra or other synthetic benchmarks here since we question the relevance of these synthetic benchmarks for real performanc, there will be a ton of those posted elsewhere and we will have them in upcoming reviews, too.

Sound was disabled in all benchmarks, in all cases we ran 2:2:2 memory latencies with a 1T address decode command latency, 4 bank interleaving and tRAs=6T
