| AOpen AX6BC Pro II Millennium Edition Any color as long as it is black | ||
| (Review by MS, 1/2000) |
January 3, 2000
At the dawn of a new Millenium and the worries about the Y2K bug finally dispelled, nothing could be more appropriate than to post a review of a product that carries the name Millennium. There are the Millennium series from Matrox and a variety of other products but there are also some special Millennium editions of other hardware.
What is so special about this board? First of all, it is black. Even the traces are covered with black, giving this board a unique look. Moreover, the board is physically larger than the average BX board sporting a silver plate engraved with the Millennium Edition logo. The board itself was designed by Evan Sheu, Ken Cheng and Robert Lee, who, etched in calligraphy on the PCB, state their pride in the design for everyone to see.
Just from its looks, the AX6BC Pro II Millennium Edition is overwhelming, stirring hopes that, beyond the black and platinum, high quality combined with innovative design has, in fact, left the chains of the second Millennium behind.
