We were using a number of different 3D Rendering programs, comprising Caligari TrueSpace 5.1, Amorphium 3.0 and 3ds max5. For Caligari, we used the Vase scene supplied by Adam Trachtenberg at 4 x AA; in Amorphium3, the Athlon64 FX-51 rendering scene at 1024x768 and in 3ds max, the CBalls, Single Pipe and Underwater Environment. Details regarding the different benchmarks are found in our Athlon 64 FX-51 review.
TrueSpace5.1

Runtime in seconds, lower is better: Surprisingly, the A64 scores relatively poorly, we reran the scene 5 times with identical results so we are confident about the validity of the score. On the other hand, A similar delta is found for the Granite Bay and the Canterwood chipsets, underscoring the importance of memory bandwidth in this particular application, especially with 4xAA selected.

Amorphium3

Runtime in seconds, lower is better: It is a very similar situation as above, the Athlon XP3200+ outperforms the Athlon64 3200+. Suffice it to say that overall, the performance is still very impressive and only the P4 Extreme Edition can keep up with the AMD processors
3ds max5

Runtime in seconds, lower is better:

Runtime in seconds, lower is better: 3ds max5 is not too fond of AMD processors, however, the performance deltas between the XP3200+, the A64 3200+ and the FX-51 are reasonable.
