 Intel i875 - Canterwood
SATA and GbE for PAT
(Review by MS, April 14, 2003)
Business Winstone 2001

Certainly not the favorite benchmark of the P4 but an interesting case study for the effectiveness of the SATA implementation. HyperThreading was turned on in all benchmarks:

Something rather strange happens here, the Parallel ATA Barracuda falls behind the rest of the pack, even the Granite Bay (GB). The Athlon XP3000+ is unbeatable here.

In the 2002 version, there is still a pronounced difference between the PATA and the SATA setup.

Content Creation Winstones

With higher workload on the processor, the I/O differences become less pronounced.

As always, CCWS2003 is a homerun for the P4 regardless of bus speed or I/O configuration.
