| Intel i875 - Canterwood SATA and GbE for PAT | ||
| (Review by MS, April 14, 2003) |
For OpenGL applications SPEC ViewPerf is still the measure of all things. As a comparative benchmark it may not be that suitable since there are problems with the interaction of some graphics adapters with certain chipsets, BIOS settings and simple driver issues. Another problem is that ViewPerf is a professional application and running it on a gaming card is a rather futile effort when it comes to documentation of system performance. For these reasons, we only use the Granite Bay and the Canterwood with the nVidia Quadro4 XGL980, keeping everything else as identical as possible.

Quite honestly, I would have expected a bit more of a victory for the Canterwood. It didn't happen, though, overall, one might say it is a wash.
