 Sapphire Pure Crossfire AM2RD580
SLI under CrossFire
(Review by MS, October 8, 2007)

3D Rendering

In general, 3D Rendering is done primarily by the CPU and there is very little impact of the motherboard on the performance. As due dilligence, however, we were looking into two applications that are at least partially sensitive to the interaction of the processor with the memory subsystem.

Caligari TrueSpace: "Vases"

Adam Trachtenberg's "Vases" was run at 1024x768 with 2 x AA enabled

The Foxconn board has a marginal lead over the PC-AM2RD580

Cinebench 2003

The same goes for Cinebench 2003 multithreaded render pass.

However, In OpenGL performance that is particularly indicative of the interaction of the memory with the CPU and the graphics subsystem, the PC-AM2-RD580 starts flexing its muscle.
