Other (Overclocking) Problems
Most contemporaries are running their systems within manufacturer specifications, however, there are the few of us that are squeezing more out of their systems and do so by overclocking the PC. Unfortunately, with Intel locking the clock multiplier in their CPUs, the only option is to increase the bus speed and that, of course reflects on the memory and PCI speed. Here is where the problem comes in, the DHN-910 does not like this very much. What is not described in the manual is that there is a testing utility installed with the drivers that can be accessed through the Control Panel by clicking on the iLine-10 icon.
Within the pop-up window is the chip test icon and clicking on it activates the RAM test. As it turns out, the system may be extremely sensitive to overclocking the PCI bus and punishes frequencies above 35 MHz with a RAM failure message underscored by the green progress bar turning red. In real life situation there were no adverse effects observed in a gaming environment but with large file transfers, there is a certain caveat that one should be aware of.
iLine10 Diagnostics "Chiptest" Panel
This is what the panel should look like. If the PCI bus is overclocked, the green progress bar turns red and the message "RAM failure" appears. As stated above, we did not experience any consequences of RAM failure in real life applications but some caution should be advised.

Tech Support
There are some PC components that do not require too much tech support, either they work, or they don’t. With complex components like a home network, the situation is somewhat different. No matter how good the manual is (and this one, as stated above, is very good) there are always some oddball configurations that make tech support a highly desirable component of the package deal. We tried the D-Link tech support on the first day after Christmas where, admittedly, everyone is busy trying to figure out what they got themselves into. At the first attempt, is was not possible to get a real person on the line, however, after leaving a message, we promptly received a call from D-Link tech support and had a very enjoyable conversation with Mike (one of their technicians). All we can say about this is that the information provided was straight to the matter of the problem, earning D-Link another bonus point (but please don’t insist on talking to Mike, there are others who are equally competent)
