SPDIF / Rage Theater chip
To ensure highest sound quality, the Rage Theater chip included in the Radeon AIW provides SPDIF (Sony Philips Digital Interface) output for digital speaker systems.
Video capture
The latest generations of ATI All-In-Wonder products have boasted the capability to capture video images from a variety of sources. The Radeon is no exception here and, once again sets new standards by employing a 10 bit digital / analog conversion, courtesy of the Rage Theater chip to keep signal to noise ratio at a minimum and provide highest color resolution. To ensure ease of use, ATI has included an adapter cable long enough to reroute the input to a user friendly position. The actual adapter can be taped with Velcro to any convenient location.

The ATi input adapter/connector can be used to connect any VCR, camcorder or laser disk player to the AIW. Next to the input connector are the cable TV-in and S-Video-out
Video editing requires hardware and software and, thus, included in the bundle are Ulead VideoEditor 4.0 ($99.95), Digital Immersion’s MerlinVR ($129.95), and MicroBasic’s Mediator 5.0 (ca.$29.95) all of which sum up to a total bonus pack of roughly $250 worth of software.
TV tuner
A further add-on is the integrated TV tuner combined with ATi’s interactive channel guide Guide Plus which, unfortunately, I had no chance of testing since in my remote location hardly any TV-input is available, not to mention cable.
