| ATI FIRE GL 8800 ... with gasoline | |
| (Review by MS, June 22, 2002) |
Back to the OpenGL Corral
We know how the FireGL scores on the different platforms in the different OpenGL applications that we looked at and we know that the GeForce4 outpaces the FireGL in games. Let's take a look at a side-by side comparison of the two cards in these OpenGL applications.
ViewPerf 6.1.2 and 7.0 at one Glance

The only application where the GeForce4 scores a victory is AWadvs and this application has been deleted from the latest View-Set since fill rate limiations were threatening to become a bottleneck and mask the raw OpenGL performance. In 3D-Studio Max, it is pretty much a tie, but look at some of the other scores where the FireGL 8800 is almost 4 times as fast as the Ti 4600.
