Instead of running the composite benchmark, we only use the Citadel flyby benchmark. Whenever raw fill rate is going to be the limitation, the 9600XT falls behind the high end cards. Again, it is not only a performance difference but just as well a huge price difference and on a frame / $ basis, the 9600 looks very appealing.
AntiAliasing and Anisotropic Filtering

Turquoise: 9800XT; Yellow: GFFX5900; Pink: 9800Pro; Blue: 9600XT
With AntiAliasing and Anisotropic filtering enabled, the differences actually shrink and the 9600XT series looks better than ever.
X2-Rolling Demo

X2 rolling demo shows the RADEON 9600 XT closing in on the GFFX5900 Ultra (52.16 drivers) at the standard resolution and default setting but at higher resolution, it falls off
