What about AntiAliasing?

Naturally, AntiAliasing takes its toll. Below is a chart showing the average fps in MDK2 without Anti Aliasing, with 2x AA, Quincunx and 4x AA. The benchmarks were run at 800 x 600 x 32 bpp since this is the resolution where FSAA or HRAA make most sense.

Mercedes Benz Truck Racing

At present, the GeForce3 still doesn't work correctly in this game / benchmark, reason enough to mention it but overall, one needs to ask whether it is the fault of the GeForce3 or the software. Since the game runs with about any other graphics card, but all other games run with the GeForce3, this question is still open.

2D quality

I am aware that the overwhelming emphasis of the GeForce3 is on 3D applications, on the other hand, the GeForce256 and the GeForce2 had their nemesis in 2D quality and overall image quality. One thing is for certain, the GeForce3 looks much better than any other nVidia card before in 3D and 2D applications. As a matter of fact, it does take awhile until the remaining difference to the ATi Radeon become apparent and these differences, although noticeable are impossible to document. Suffice it to say that the GeForce3 constitutes a huge step up from the previous nVidia cards but does not reach the ATi Radeon or the Matrox G400/450/550 series.
