King of the Hill
(Review by MS, October 26, 2003)
PNY QuadroFX 3000 at:

Blitting

Keep in mind that in blitting the screen is only partially refreshed. That is, the 3ds max writing moves around the screen like the 3D-text screen saver in Windows and only its wake is refreshed, otherwise, the frame rates shown would not be possible.

Once again, the MAXtreme drivers make a huge difference regardless of whether the "Speed" or "Quality" setting is chosen.

Dual Planes

Dual Planes is rather insensitive to driver version or setting, which is not too surprising since it is a mostly static image with a ball moving left to right between the two planes.

Geometry1

At the Speed setting, the MAXtreme drivers are 7 times faster than the generic OpenGL settings and even in Quality mode, there is still a more than 6 x increase.

Geometry2

After adding some UFOs, the performance differences are not that large anymore, but the effect of the MAXtreme drivers is still impressive.
