 nVidia Quadro FX1400
The Midrange Solution for Almost Anything
(Review by MS, June 13, 2006)

SPEC ViewPerf 8.01

ViewPerf is the official OpenGL benchmark for professional graphics cards. The version used (8.0.1) has recently been replaced by 9.0, however, in order to have reference points, we stuck with the older revision. One of the issues that always comes up in reviews is whether it is even appropriate to use a consumer graphics card in SPEC ViewPerf for a system / CPU performance evaluation, likewise, how much of a difference is there between a top level consumer graphics card and a similarly priced "mid-range" professional graphics solution. To answer both questions, we have results of the entire ViewPerf suite pitting the FX1400 against the FX4500 in single card and SLI configuration as well as the Sappphire RADEON X1900 XTX as the currently top performing consumer card.
