  •  Sapphire RADEON X1900 XTX
    Arguably the fastest out there..
(Review by MS, February 20, 2006)
    ATI X1600 XT

    Call Of Duty 2

We used our own custom-recorded demo that plays in the opening level. All settings were set to the highest possible level. Because the game will not launch without audio, all COD2 benchmarks were run with sound enabled.

    F.E.A.R.

In the case of the X850 XT, renaming the executable to "EAR" gave the single card a considerable performance boost but at the same time, caused the Crossfire configuration to slump. With the X1900XTX, no such dependence on the file name was found. We used the built-in "Performance Evaluation" benchmark. All settings were set to maximum. An interesting tidbit on the side is how well the X1900 XTX does in an "nVidia - the way it is meant to be played" game.
