Test Configurations
Since we are comparing the X1900 XTX to both Crossfire and SLI platforms, we had to use two different testbeds, namely the DFI LAN Party UT NF4 SLI and the Sapphire A9RD480. In the middle of finishing up the benchmarking, the Catalyst 6.2 driver suite was released which yields, application-dependent up to 20% performance increase over the previously used 5.13 drivers, and to get the latest results in, we re-ran essentially all benchmarks shown with the exception of the GTO2 using 12 pixel pipelines. Beyond some minor fluctuations, the outcome of the benchmarks for the X1900 XTX was identical for both platforms.
