After the Flash
Back in the days, there was nothing more gratifying than a successful flash - well not really but flashing the BIOS of motherboards and graphics cards has become much easier and safer than it was a few years ago. Nevertheless, there is still always this particular thrill but in this case, everything went thorougly uneventful, that is, the system booted straight back up into WindowsXP without any artifacts. Time for some comparative benchmarks.
Since we don't want to dilute the message here, we show only benchmarks obtained with the same identical card:
For verification of artifacts and errors we used the 3D Test built into ATI-Tools

As soon as any errors occur, ATI-Tool reports them and scales back. The highest frequencies running stable without artifacts were 606 MHz (core) and 575 MHz (memory). To add a bit of a margin, we settled for 600 / 575 MHz for out benchmarks.
Test Configuration
16 Pipes and Lots of MHz

The three "modded" test configurations at default, standard OC and Max OC.
Benchmark Overview

We ran the following benchmarks: 3DMark'05, Quake4 LC005 Demo, FarCry LC-5 Pier. DOOM3 Demo1
