Sapphire RADEON X800XT vs. GeForce 6800GT
and a dash of RADEON X300
(Review by MS, Nov. 3, 2004)
GeForce 6800GT At:

FarCry

We looked at a number of prerecorded demos from elsewhere and we looked at some more of these demos and then decided that those demos were not really what we were interested in for benchmarking a graphics cards. So we set out to record our own demo within the Pier level, starting on the shore line and running through the water (which, by the way, creates some rather spectacular effects) and then making it up through the jungle to a vista point where we had a good look at the surf..The demo is available via email on request.

Turquoise: Sapphire X800XT; Pink: GeForce 6800 GT; Orange: X300.

Sapphire X800XT:

4xAA 8xAF

Turquoise: Sapphire X800XT; Pink: GeForce 6800 GT; Orange: X300. At the 1600 x 1200 setting the X300 defaulted back to 1024 x 768 x 32 when AA and AF were enabled.

X2 Rolling Demo

Turquoise: Sapphire X800XT; Pink: GeForce 6800 GT; Orange: X300: Shadows and AA enabled in the game console At lower resolutions, the Sapphire X800XT wins, at higher resolutions, it is a tie with the GeForce 6800 GT.
