Comanche4
Comanche4 is not one of the visually most appealing games, textures look somewhat drab except for the visual effects of the water. In addition, Comanche4 benchmark results are heavily dependent on memory bandwidth and latencies. We did find a somewhat strange bug with all nVidia GPU-based cards, that is failure to texture some of the buildings which may positively impact the GeForce scores.

The barrack in the foreground is not rendered correctly. This artifact occurred with all GeForce4 cards with both 30.xx or 40.xx drivers but not with either ATI or SIS card. The lack of rendering may artificially inflate the average frame rates or else be symptomatic for a performance hit.

Average fps at 800 x 600 x 32bpp. The Xabre600 falls to the bottom of the ranks. Note that we have the suffix "TT3" which stands for TexTurbo =03, this will become more important later in this review. The Tyan Tachyon G9000 Pro is in the same league as the Radeon 8500.

Average fps at 1280 x 1024 x 32bpp. At higher resolution, the Xabre starts to catch up but the 8500 and the 9000 are still faster.

Average fps at 1600 x 1200 x 32bpp. The Xabre600 appears to love high resolution and pulls ahead in front of the RADEON 8500 and the Tachyon G9000 Pro. Note that the Tachyon G9000 Pro pulls in front of the RADEON 8500 and that the RADEON 9700 is absolutely unimpressed by any change in resolution.
